경북 영덕 장사해수욕장에 위치한 장사상륙작전 전승기념관입니다
6.25전쟁당시에 인천상륙작전을 성공시키기 위해 장사상륙작전을 개시하였는데
당시 어린학도병으로 이루어진 772명의 병사들이 문산호를 타고 가서
상륙하여 적의 보급로를 차단하고 후방교란을 하였습니다
많은 전사자와 부상자가 생겼지만 이들의 희생때문에 인천상륙작전이 성공할수있었습니다
장사상륙작전은 당시 군사기밀이었기에 공식문서조차 없어 역사에 남지 못했으나
1997년 3월 6일 좌초된 문산호가 발견되면서 장사상륙작전도 세상에 알려질 수 있었습니다.
