Montserrat is a mountain range in the region of Catalonia in Spain. The mountain is located near the city of Barcelona (48km northwest) with the Les Agulles, Sant Jeroni and Montgrós Peaks up to 1,236 m. Montserrat is known for its Saint Mary Monastery (Santa Maria de Montserrat in Spanish). The monastery was founded in the 16th century and renovated in 1811 after the Peninsular War.
