Cinematic 4K DJI Mini 2 Drone footage of Blackrock Castle located in the Blackrock neighbourhood, about 2 km from Cork city centre on the banks of the River Lee in County Cork, Ireland. Originally Blackrock castle was constructed in 1582, although several parts have been rebuilt during the centuries due to fires. While Blackrock castle has served a coastal defensive role to protect upper Cork harbour and the port, nowadays it houses the Blackrock Castle Observatory. The castle's observatory houses an interactive astronomy centre, exhibiting a "tour of the universe" and a radio telescope that beams messages composed by school groups towards nearby stars.
